Misconduct Hearing For Chief Inspector Keith Ewart Over His Actions In an Incident In Which A Young Man Died In A RTC

Allegation 1

On Friday 12th February 2016, a fatal road traffic collision occurred resulting in the death of a young male.  Chief Inspector Keith Ewart was the Critical Incident Manager on duty when this road traffic collision occurred and was able to listen in on the call however it is alleged that he failed to intervene and provide necessary medical advice to the Wiltshire Police call operator.

Allegation 2

Following the death of the young male, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) conducted an independent investigation into the manner in which the ‘999’ call was dealt with by the Wiltshire Police call operator however during the investigation it is alleged that Chief Inspector Ewart failed to disclose that he had monitored the call.
