Dorset police officer PS Simon Kempton who is also a member of the National Board of the Police Federation has been ordered to appear before a misconduct hearing where it is alleged that he posted a number of messages in a group chat, that disclosed evidence that had been revealed during a hearing PC Wayne Couzens at Westminister Magistrates court on the 13th March 2021.
PC Wayne Couzens was convicted at the Old Bailey on the 30th September 2021 of the Murder, Rape, and Kidnap of Sarah Everard and sentenced to a whole life tariff.
The hearing which will be chaired by Barrister Derek Marshall and held at the Dorset Police Headquarters on 22nd February 2022 and will decide if the allegations have been proved and what sanction the officer should face which could range from a written warning to the officer being sacked without notice.
