A Sussex Police officer has appeared in court charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Police Constable Louie Wellfare, 28, is appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 6 May
The charge relates to a collision involving a marked Sussex Police car, driven by PC Welfare, and a man walking in Bear Road, Brighton, on 17 July 2019. The man sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital.
