Summary

A former police constable has been found to have breached standards of professional behavior in relation to her off-duty conduct.

It was alleged that the former PC failed to take any adequate steps to prevent crime in that she participated in an aggressive confrontation in Leicester on 8 August 2021 during which a woman was assaulted by a man.

It was also alleged that the former PC failed to take any adequate steps to safeguard the welfare of the woman following the assault and that the former PC failed to be open and honest in her dealings with two on-duty officers who attended the incident.

The standards of professional behaviour engaged are honesty and integrity; authority, respect and courtesy and discreditable conduct.

Following a misconduct hearing, the allegations were all found proven and therefore that gross misconduct had been committed.

It was determined that had the officer still been serving, she would have been dismissed with immediate effect. The former officer will also be added to the College of Policing’s barred list.
