On 17 January 2022, an Accelerated Misconduct Hearing was held at Leyland Police station is respect of PC 8861 Connor McHugh.

The alleged breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour was as follows:

PC 8861 Connor McHugh breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour set out in Schedule 2 to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020, by gaining access to Police computer systems and subsequently disclosed some of the information obtained to third parties.

The Chair found the conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour, namely Confidentiality and Discreditable Conduct, and amounted to Gross Misconduct. PC McHugh was dismissed without notice and will now be included on the barred list.
