Two Disgraced Greater Manchester Police Officers Face The Sack This Week

Two disgraced Greater Manchester Police officers will face separate misconduct hearings this week and both are facing being sacked and placed on the police barred list after both being convicted of criminal offenses.

Detective Constable Lee Cunliffe 40 from Bolton pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offense, three counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of misconduct in a public office and one count of perverting the course of justice. At Liverpool Crown Couret in January 2022

He was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison.

The next officer facing the sack is Police Constable Phillip Smith who following an IOPC investigation pleaded guilty to common assault after he repeatedly tasered a man who was handcuffed and restrained and posed no threat.

Pc Smith was sentenced to an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay the victim £250 pounds
