
West Midlands police officer PC Samuel Huntbach has made his first appearance at Birmingham Magistrates today (1 June) after being charged with assaulting a man during an arrest.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) carried out an independent investigation following a referral from West Midlands Police relating to an incident in May 2020. A complaint from the subject of the arrest, who suffered a fractured ankle, was also referred.
PC Samuel Huntbach, 28, based at Digbeth Police Station, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 1st June.
He was released on unconditional bail and will next appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 30th June 2021
