He stole a controlled substance, diazepam, which was evidence in a live criminal investigation, from police property and falsified evidence bags to seek to hide his actions.
He engaged in a sexual act with a member of police staff, Female A, at Brighton Police station.

It is alleged that on 13 May 2020 the officers conducted a stop and search of a male without any genuine or objectively reasonable grounds to do so. It is alleged that the decision to stop and search and the conduct of the search was inappropriately influenced by the male’s race. It is alleged that PC Lovelock used force on the male that was not necessary, proportionate or reasonable in the circumstances in order to detain and search him.
