DS Wayne Stanley     –     Metropolitan Police Service,

On 20 May 2022 at Guildford Crown Court, DS Stanley was convicted of possessing a class A controlled drug (namely cocaine) in contravention of section 5(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Following conviction, DS Stanley was fined £750 and was ordered to pay £2250 in costs.

PC Tristan Downing     –     Metropolitan Police Service,

On 14 January 2022, PC Downing was arrested for soliciting another for the purpose of obtaining their sexual services as a prostitute in a public place, contrary to section 51a of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

On 14 February 2022, PC Downing appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court where he entered a guilty plea to the charge of soliciting. On conviction, he was fined £450 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £45.

It is alleged that PC Downing has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable Conduct.

PC Elliott Booker-Keep     –     Metropolitan Police Service,

On 2 January 2022, following an argument, PC Booker-Keep threw items at a vehicle belonging to another person, causing damage to the windscreen.

No further information has been provided by the force into the circumstances of the alleged breaches.

It is alleged that on 03/09/2021 and 06/11/2021, whilst off duty, Constable Gray acted in an inappropriate manner. It has been assessed that Constable Gray’s conduct on those occasions amounted to discreditable conduct and a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour.

It is alleged that on 27 February 2021 whilst off duty, PC Gnadou travelled on a railway without having paid for the journey. During the journey he was challenged by a revenue inspector and admitted that he had not paid for and he did not intend to pay for his journey.

It is further alleged that on 8 May 2021 whilst giving evidence at Bromley Magistrates Court PC Gnadou made a statement to the court that he knew to be untrue.

PC Gnadou pleaded guilty and was convicted of the offence of travelling on a railway without having paid and with intent to avoid payment, contrary to Section 5(3)(a) of the Regulation of Railways Act 1889. PC Gnadou was fined £40, ordered to pay £135 costs, £34 victim services surcharge and £4 compensation.

PC 1682 Christopher Groom     –     North Yorkshire Police,

Between in or around 3 December 2014 and 14 November 2021 former officer Groom made and/or possessed 8707 indecent images of children, graded as category C (indecent images not falling within categories A and B).

On 18 May 2022, former officer Groom was convicted at the Leeds Magistrates’ Court of making 8707 category C indecent images of children, contrary to sections 1(1)(a) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1978, having pleaded guilty to the same. On 14 June 2022, former officer Groom was sentenced to an 18-month community order with 30 rehabilitation days, 150 hours of unpaid work and a sexual harm prevention order was imposed. By virtue of the conviction and sentence, the former officer was placed on the sex offenders’ register.

When they were returning to the police station, they stopped at Redbridge Park and Ride, where PC Brandish’s car was parked, to move it closer to the station due to the bad weather.

However, as they were leaving the car park PC Brandish’s car and the marked police car, driven by PC Jones, were involved in a collision, causing damage to the police car.

Once back at the police station it is alleged that PC Jones told their Sergeant that he had been involved in a collision with a deer in order to explain the damage to the police car.
