The IOPC gas launched an investigation into the death of 44yrs old man in St Anne Street Police Station.
The man was detained by officers at around 9.45 pm on Tuesday 14th March and was taken into custody.
The man stayed in custody overnight, and at 5 pm on Wednesday 15th, March he was found on the floor in need of medical attention.
Paramedics attended and the man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.,
