Greater Manchester Police: Investigation launched Following The Death of Heather Smedley In Olham.

The IOPC has launched an investigation into the death of Heather Smedley in 2021

Just after 10 am on the morning of December 23rd, an unmarked police car had been involved in a pursuit of an Audi A3 that was thought to be stolen which then collided with another vehicle at the junction of Oldham Road and Otmoor Way.

Paramedics treated the driver of the other vehicle 53yr old Heather Smedley who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GMP Officer has been informed that he is under investigation for potential offenses of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving.
