Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

On 3 August 2021, the officer was convicted at for driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol, contrary to section 5 of the Road Traffic Act. The officer was subsequently sentenced to 12 weeks’ custody, suspended for 12 months, a 3-year disqualification, 150 hours community order and a £788 fine.

The officer’s conduct and resultant conviction set out above breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour contained in Schedule 2 to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012, in particular.
