Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

Former PC Kent faces three allegations in relation to an incident on 18 June 2021.

It is alleged that on this date, former PC Kent arrested a man in Southall for being unfit to drive through drink and for assault on his partner.

During the course of the arrest, it is alleged that former PC Kent used unnecessary, disproportionate and unreasonable force.

It is alleged that former PC Kent breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of Use of Force.

It is further alleged that during his dealing with the arrested man, that former PC Kent failed to act with self-control and tolerance, which was in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Authority, Respect and Courtesy.

Finally, it is alleged that former PC Kent’s conduct at the scene was such as it would discredit the police service or undermine public confidence in it, which would be in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Discreditable Conduct.
