Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

During the period when Officer B was released under investigation, it is alleged that there was ongoing contact between Officer A and Officer B, despite both officers having been told not to contact each other. Supervising officers were, it is alleged, dishonestly misled about the communications that had taken place between Officer A and Officer B.

It is also alleged that Officer A accessed the custody record of Officer B for a non-policing purpose, took a photograph of the custody record and showed this to another officer.

Officer A is alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour and in particular the standards relating to:

honesty and integrity
confidentiality
discreditable conduct
challenging and reporting improper conduct
Officer B is alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour and in particular the standards relating to:

honesty and Integrity
orders and instructions
discreditable conduct
