In April 2021 the officer instructed a Detective Sergeant to ‘sit on’ and/or ‘soften’ the contents of a Supplementary Crime Report into an investigation conducted by a Detective Constable and supervised by the Detective Sergeant into allegations made by Victim A. The officer did so in order to mislead the Crown Prosecution Service about the findings of the Detective Constable’s investigation which were likely to undermine the investigation in which the officer was involved.
