Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

On 1 April 2022 at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court former PC Chaudhry pleaded guilty to;

one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead or alive animal
contrary to Sec 63(1), 7(d) & 67(3) Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008
one count of voyeurism – recording a private act without another’s consent for the purposes of sexual gratification
contrary to Sec 67(3) & (5) Sexual Offences Act 2003
one count of making an indecent photograph of a child (Category A)
contrary to Sec 1 (1) (a) & Sec 6 Protection of Children Act 1978
one count of making an indecent photograph of a child (Category B)
contrary to Sec 1(1) (a) & Sec 6 Protection of Children Act 1978
one count of making an indecent photograph of a child (Category C)
contrary to Sec 1(1)(a) and Sec 6 Protection of Children Act 1978
The particulars being:

On 30 March 2022 former PC Swaleh Chaudhry was arrested in a high street clothing store after having been detained in the mixed-sex changing rooms. He was suspected of having used his mobile phone to film a female under the partition of a private changing cubicle whilst she was undressing.

On 31 March 2022, during a premises search, digital devices were seized belonging to former PC Chaudhry which contained indecent images of children and extreme pornography.

Former PC Chaudhry subsequently pleaded guilty to the offences he was charged with.

In all respects the Appropriate Authority therefore considers former PC Chaudhry’s actions to be a breach of the following Standards of Professional Behaviour:
