Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

On 14 April 2022 at Winchester Crown Court DC Olwage was convicted of the following offences:

a. Adult attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child – S.1 Criminal Attempts Act 1981.

b. Attempt to cause / incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – penetration – S.1 Criminal Attempts Act 1981.

c. Adult attempt to meet a girl under 16 years of age following grooming – S.15 Sexual Offences Act 2003.

d. Police corruption S.26(1) of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015.

DC Olwage was sentenced on 27 April 2022 at Winchester Crown Court to the following:

a. Adult attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child – S.1 Criminal Attempts Act 1981 – 18 months concurrent

b. Attempt to cause / incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – penetration – S.1 Criminal Attempts Act 1981 – 5 years

c. Adult attempt to meet a girl under 16 years of age following grooming – S.15 Sexual Offences Act 2003 – 4 years concurrent

d. Police Corruption – S.26(1) of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 – 6 months A total sentence of 5.5 years imprisonment and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and victim surcharge.
