Circumstances of Alleged Breaches

On 11 September 2020 whilst off duty, DC Redden drove her personal vehicle and collided with a parked vehicle and the garden wall of an adjacent property.

Immediately after the collision, the officer informed a member of the public at the scene that she had been the passenger in the vehicle and that the male driver had run away; this was untrue.

When officers attended at the scene the officer failed a roadside breath test and was arrested before being taken to Coventry police station.

At the police station, the officer was breathalyzed and gave a reading of 62 g of alcohol in 100 ml of breath.

On 24 September 2020 DC Redden pleaded guilty in the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court to a single charge of driving a motor vehicle when over the prescribed lim
