The officer faces an allegation whereby it is alleged that in July 2023 the officer, while off duty, had a single vehicle collision in his personal vehicle causing considerable damage. The officer then walked home leaving his vehicle in a ditch. The vehicle was subsequently found by officers and upon attendance at the home address of the officer, he repeatedly lied claiming he was not the driver at the time of the collision. Later the same day, the officer confirmed to the attending officers that the account he had provided earlier had been false and that he had been the driver at the time of the collision.
